The Tree Planting Integration is a sustainability integration that allows hotels to offer tree planting as an optional add-on within the Mews reservation flow. The integration enables properties to present tree planting in a similar way to other additional services, such as breakfast or late checkout, allowing guests to actively contribute to reforestation efforts during their stay. When a guest selects the tree planting option, the integration listens for reservation updates via Mews webhooks and retrieves the relevant service order details through the Connector API. Based on this information, Click A Tree records the number of trees selected and the associated property in its system. No guest personal data or payment details are stored or processed. The integration is designed with data minimization and privacy in mind. Only the information required to identify the purchased tree planting service, the quantity selected, and the associated hotel is processed. Guest identities, contact details, and payment information remain fully within Mews. At the end of each billing period, Click A Tree provides hotels with a consolidated invoice based on the total number of trees planted during that period. The integration does not interfere with hotel payment flows or accounting processes and operates purely as a reporting and reconciliation layer for sustainability contributions.
